Texas Acres Subdivision is located right on the lake. It has its own boat ramp and picnic area for all residents to use. The POA are located and live in the subdivision. They are extremely dedicated people who personally take care of this subdivision. For example, since the annual meeting that was held last November, the following has happened:
- Blacktop repairs have been done to the roads and the adding of a compressed rock foundation to Hereford from Braford to Charbra and on Brahman.
- Repairs have been done to the bulkhead at the boat launch park.
- $25,000 was approved to work with Onalaska Water Dept. to develop a plan to install Fire Hydrants. This will be ongoing and they plan to lay a 6" water line from Hwy 356 to the water plant on Longhorn. This should be done by the end of 2008.
- Once the fire hydrants are installed, you will be eligible for a rate reduction on your homeowners insurance of around 20%. If for example you were paying $500.00 per year for insurance, a 20% reduction would be $100.00!
The owner of this property will have direct access to Lake Livingston. Lake Livingston is the second largest lake in Texas. Examples of fishes in the lake include catfish, hybrid striped bass, largemouth bass, striped bass, and white crappie.
Subdivisions neighboring Texas Acres include Oak Terrace Estates, Livingston Village, and Pine Harbor Estates.
Texas Acres is very secure and family based. The community and people around make this a truely wonderful place to live. This is why lots are so hard to find in this area.

Texas Acres is a great place to live and raise a family. The area is very beautiful and everybody watches out for each other in this community. Texas Acres's nearest malls and entertainment are in Huntsville about 40 minutes away. You most likely wont find any Texas Acres Lot for sale as the owners of these lots are reluctant to sell. Texas Acres is expected to be a part of Onalaska City Limits in the near future. Currently, they are not part of any city limits (there private). However, the lovely Lake Livingston State Park is very close, so there is always something to do in Texas Acres!
